Features/Characteristics

  • SME A28 is an Austenitic Electrode for welding high Alloys and unalloyed steels and is All position electrode giving 25Cr/12Ni deposit.
  • It gives weldment of high-tensile strength, excellent resistance to chemical corrosion and heat.
  • Slag detachability is good, gives smooth arc, low spatter and smooth weld bead of radiographic quality.

SME A28 Welding Rod Uses/Applications

  • Welding of high alloy and unalloyed steels.
  • Surfacing on mild steel to improve wear resistance.
  • Joining stainless steel to low alloy steels, carbon steels.
  • Can be used for cladding purpose on carbon steel.
